The Academy at King Honor Code

Honor is at the core of life at The Academy. The Honor Code guides decisions made by students, faculty, and administration. This commitment stems from the realization that, as adolescents grow into adulthood, it is essential that they learn that conducting one’s life with honor leads to healthy and personally fulfilling business, professional and personal relationships.
The Honor Code states:
As a student at The Academy, I will not lie, cheat, or steal. I will not tolerate those who do.

Lying is defined as any written or oral utterance that is untrue.

Stealing is defined as taking or using anything that belongs to someone else without the permission of the owner. Borrowing without permission will be considered stealing.

Cheating is defined as giving or receiving unauthorized assistance with any academic work, including copying words or ideas from text or electronic sources without citation.

As a reminder of the importance of honor in one’s academic work, the student at The Academy is required to include the following pledge on written work:

On my honor, I promise that I have neither given nor received unauthorized assistance with this assignment.
